South Coast Innovation Challenge 2021

Southwestern Students: Do you have ideas that could become a new invention to solve challenges in our everyday lives? Do you like competing for cash and prizes? If so, Invent Oregon (inventOR) is the competition for you. The first stop on the road to inventOR involves participation in the local South Coast Innovation Challenge 2021.

Student teams of two or more design a physical prototype for a new invention to address a pressing problem in society. Students in all majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Applications are due January 22, 2021. Campus Showcase is tentatively scheduled for April 8, 2021.

What is Invent Oregon? The Invent Oregon Collegiate Challenge is a competition for college and university innovators and entrepreneurs with ideas for inventions addressing today’s most pressing problems. Through the Invent Oregon program, students receive up to $2,500 in development grants to take their invention from an idea to a working prototype. At the Invent Oregon finals, students present their invention prototype and compete for cash prizes of up to $30,000.
