Recently, Psychology 231 students represented Southwestern well when they went to local high schools to teach Dating Communication and Violence Prevention Activities. These students successfully facilitated discussions with high school students on issues such as healthy relationships, boundaries, societal influences on intimacy, what love really is, and low-cost to no-cost date ideas. One high school student wrote: “All of the activities were good at having us involved in talking about these topics and all the topics were relevant.”

Southwestern Psychology 231 student Shelby Harris shared, “It felt good knowing that we could potentially help out younger students in making important life decisions regarding safe dating and healthy communication skills. I wish people came in to my class when I was younger and had that conversation with me.”
