Celebrating students and community
Meet our 2021 Distinguished Alumnus
In May 2021, the college selected Donald Ivy of Coos Bay and Chief of the Coquille Indian Tribe as our 2021 Distinguished Alumnus. Don was a true community builder, and an active leader throughout Oregon who inspires learning. He passed away in July 2021, leaving a legacy of support for education, leadership in tribal issues and development, and advocacy for caretaking this land.
Help us honor an alum ... Nominate!
The Laker Alumni Association provides opportunities to promote, support, serve, reconnect and celebrate Southwestern's students and community. We also work to develop a network of people to honor the college's history and instill pride to create a legacy.
We accept nominations for Distinguished Alumni from January through April 1. We are committed to honoring individuals who have contributed selflessly to improving their lives, the lives of others and their communities.
