Eligible graduating students will each receive 4 tickets. All children must have tickets. There will be a live closed circuit telecast of the commencement ceremony in the Hales Center for Performing Arts for those members of your group who can't be seated in Prosper Hall.
Families with small children who wish to watch the ceremony can now do so in the comfort of their homes at our website https://new.livestream.com/swocc. Childcare is not provided.
Students who plan to meet their degree requirements in the following summer and/or fall term, may participate in commencement. To determine your eligibility for participation, you must file for graduation at the Student First Stop Center.
A graduate is allowed to participate in commencement for each degree or certificate earned. Students may only participate in the commencement year which they listed on the original Graduation Application. If you earn a second degree/certificate in future years, you may participate in commencement for the second degree/certificate.
Your name is listed in the program if you intend to participate. It will be listed in the newspaper, whether or not you choose to participate, unless you have a FERPA block on your account.
Yes, the recipients of each degree are asked to stand as a group and each name will be announced.
Yes, the various processions and seating of graduates and faculty in their colorful attire are highlights of the commencement exercises. To participate in this memorable event, you must be robed. Diplomas will be processed once all grades are confirmed and accounts are paid in full. You will receive your diploma 2-3 weeks after all grades are submitted, all accounts are paid in full and holds are taken care of.
