COOS BAY, OR – Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Pathways to Positive Parenting Program invites Coquille-area families to an 8-week series of workshops to help children prepare for kindergarten success.
The workshops are scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday evenings, Oct. 4 through Nov. 29, at the Lincoln School of Early Learning, 1366 N. Gould. They are open to anyone involved in the life of a child ages 0-6, and are designed so parents are able to help their children feel empowered, resourceful and creative.
Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to learn what to do at home to help their babies, toddlers and preschoolers be more successful in learning. Families also can talk about useful tips and tricks with other parents going through the same stages.
The Coquille High School Key Club will provide free dinner and free childcare for families. Also, participants will receive free books and kindergarten kits with school supplies and activities.
Please call 541-888-1588 to register, or for more information.
