Information for winter Term 2020 EMT-Basic
The EMT Basic is a two term course that is offered in Winter and Spring terms beginning in January and ending in mid June. Admission to SWOCC is necessary. (Free) and an additional application is required. The EMT Course is 12 units total. Those who successfully complete the didactic coursework will eligible to sit for written and practical exam to become certified with the State of Oregon. Students are required to complete an application for the course (link below). Applications are due by noon November 15th, 2019.
Program Requirements/ Prerequisites: (All required as part of the application and must be submitted with the application in order to be considered)
* Be 18 years old or older
*American Heart Association CPR BLS card. Must show
*High school or GED Transcript

The EMS programs meet or exceeds the required skills and knowledge as set forth by the National EMS Education Standards and the Oregon Health Authority DHS-EMS division. The programs are currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Oregon Health Authority DHSEMS.
The ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE PARAMEDICINE is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
