General Information & FAQ’s
- VALID PHOTO ID required for all testing services.
- What should I not bring with me?
- No food, drink, cell phones, smart watches, computer tablets or bags of any type allowed in the Testing Center.
- No children allowed within the Testing Center, and no unattended children are allowed to wait outside the center.
- All electronic devices must be turned off and placed in a “cubby”.
- Is there a fee to take a placement test?
- Placement testing is free for SWOCC students.
- Where can Distance Education students take tests?
- All Distance Education students will need to arrange with current institution to allow for Southwestern Testing Center to proctor your exam.
- Make appointment with Southwestern Testing Center in advance.
- Agree to follow the guidelines of the Testing Center.
- Present photo ID.
- Do testing center hours remain the same all year?
- Testing Center hours vary depending on the term.

- Where is the Testing Center?
- The testing center is located in Stensland Hall, first floor next to the Campus Store on the Coos Bay Campus.
- How do I schedule the following professional testing services or exams?
- Pearson Vue – visit pearsonvue.com.

- Oregon Department of Agriculture Pesticide exams – call 877-533-2900 or visit metrosignup.com.
- National Testing Network (NTN) – visit NationalTestingNetwork.com.

Test Day - What to Expect
- VALID PHOTO ID required for all testing services.
- NO FOOD, DRINKS, OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE ALLOWED IN THE TESTING CENTER.
- No textbooks, notes, or aids of any kind will be allowed without written permission from the instructor, or professional testing services.
- Test candidates will be asked to store belongings, in “cubby” provided, such as: phone, watch, headphones/air buds, water/food, wallet/purse/backpack. Empty pockets of all contents. Hats are not allowed.
- The Testing Center is designed to accommodate Accuplacer placement testing, Pearson Vue testing, distance education/online testing for distance education/online students, state certification tests, and a very limited number of in-person make up tests.
- Testing Center hours vary. Tests are by appointment only.
