  • Curry Campus: Just north of Brookings on U.S. Highway 101 at 96082 Lone Ranch Parkway, Brookings. Since this campus is a single building, the Student Success Center staff can help you with any questions.

Friday, 9/4

  • *9:00 am – 4:00 pm = Housing Students: Housing Move-In (Lighthouse Depot) Housing students only – move-in to apartments. Check-in at Dellwood Hall. Looking for a move-in list? Monday, 9/7

  • 8:00 am = Campus Closed – Labor Day Holiday
  • 10:00 am = Laker Fun Run or “SWalk” (Check-In at Lighthouse Depot) – Join your Laker Resident Assistants (RA’s) on a run around campus. Don’t worry! It’s fine to walk, too—just bring a smile and come hang with fellow Lakers.

Tuesday, 9/8

  • *Throughout the Day (Lighthouse Depot) = Housing students are encouraged to participate in various activities put on by the Resident Assistants (RA’s). Be sure to check-in with your RA for details!
  • 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm = S’mores, Knockout and Yard Games (Lighthouse Depot)Sponsored by Associated Student Government (ASG), meet fellow Lakers while you enjoy some yummy treats and compete!

Wednesday, 9/9

  • 8:00 am – 1:30 pm = Campus Services Closed In-Service (NOTE: Dining Services remains open for lunch)
  • 12:00 Noon = Women’s Soccer vs. Rogue Community College (Track/Soccer Field) Cheer on the Lakers as they compete on the soccer pitch!
  • 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm = Laker T-shirt Tie-Dye (Henry Hanson Quad Near Tioga Hall) Meet with fellow Lakers and staff and get creative with color! Free t-shirts provided while supplies last.
  • 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm = SWOCC Trail Walk (Parking Lot 2 - Behind Tioga Hall) Enjoy either a guided or self-guided scenic walk on the campus trails with fellow Lakers and staff.
  • *7:00 pm – 8:30 pm = Josie Cabera: Life Beyond Your Shadows (Hales Center for the Performing Arts “PAC” in Empire Hall)Join motivational speaker and author Josie Cabrera for an inspiring keynote on overcoming self-doubt, building self-worth, and discovering the power to create lasting happiness.

Thursday, 9/10

  • *Throughout the Day (Lighthouse Depot) = Housing students are encouraged to participate in various activities put on by the Resident Assistants (RA’s). Be sure to check-in with your RA for details!
  • 10:00 am – 11:00 am = Campus Tour (Dellwood Hall) Prepare for the start of the term by joining this guided campus tour with friendly Admissions staff.
  • 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm = Campus Tour (Dellwood Hall) Prepare for the start of the term by joining this guided campus tour with friendly Admissions staff.
  • *3:00 pm – 5:00 pm = "C" Word: Consent Presentation (Hales Center for the Performing Arts “PAC” in Empire Hall)This is a mandatory presentation for Housing Students, but all students are encouraged to attend!
  • *7:00 pm – 8:30 pm = Hypnotist Gabriel Holmes (Hales Center for the Performing Arts “PAC” in Empire Hall)  – Gabriel has performed more than 1700 hypnosis shows/talks to date all over North America. He has performed and/or spoken for Nike, Best Buy, Costco, University of Washington, Columbia University to name a few.

Friday, 9/11

  • *Throughout the Day (Lighthouse Depot) = Housing students are encouraged to participate in various activities put on by the Resident Assistants (RA’s). Be sure to check-in with your RA for details!
  • 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon = Crochet Lessons (Tioga Hall – Library) Learn to crochet! We’ll show you the (very) basics and make a small, toy book. All materials provided.
  • 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm = RC Cars in the Library (Tioga Hall – Library) Bring your own or use one of ours!

Saturday, 9/12

  • 9:45 am – 12:00 noon = Service Saturday! Trail Clean-Up (Parking Lot 2 - Behind Tioga Hall)Volunteer in partnership with the Oregon Bay Area Beautification (OBAB). Help beautify our SWOCC Campus Trails near John Topits Park. Please dress appropriately for walking outdoors.
  • *6:30 pm – 8:30 pm = Home Sweet Apartment (Student Housing) Calling all housing Students! Make your space feel like home—join fellow housing students for an evening of decorating and adding your own personal touch to your apartment.
  • 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm = Cosmic Bowling (North Bend Lanes – 1225 Virginia Ave., North Bend) Sponsored by Associated Student Government (ASG), get your glow on with this glow in the dark bowing event!

  • 12:00 Noon – 2:00 pm = Laker Level Up & BBQ! We encourage all students to join the fun! Get your questions answered by faculty and staff–whether it’s about admissions, graduation, or anything in between. Take a tour, grab some BBQ and bring your family along for a great time.
