COOS BAY, OR – People interested in starting a career in dental assisting are invited to a free Dental Assisting Program Information Session on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how Southwestern Oregon Community College's program prepares students to become job-ready in just nine months.
The information session takes place in Sumner Hall, Room 6, on the Coos Campus (1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay). Space is still available for students to start the program this Fall Term, which begins September 14.
Prospective students will learn what to expect, program requirements, and how to get started for Fall Term. They will also have the opportunity to meet the lead program instructor, ask questions, and tour the Dental Assisting lab.

This nine-month Dental Assisting program combines hands-on lab instruction with real-world experience in local dental offices, preparing students to enter the workforce after completing.
