Our Mission

Southwestern fulfills the educational and cultural needs of our diverse communities by providing equitable access to exceptional teaching and learning in a collaborative, engaging, sustainable environment, which supports innovation, lifelong enrichment, and contribution to global society.

Board Goals

1. Review and revise board policies on a three-year cycle.
2. Collaborate with the Southwestern Foundation Board to:
    – Support and participate in Foundation activities.
    – Participate as scholarship readers.
    – Engage in Friend- and Fundraising.
3. Plan to implement the first 5 years of the Master Plan:
    – Monitor Coaledo and Sumner renovations.
    – Monitor the completion of the Fire Tower.
    – Advocate for the Success Project.
4. Strategize debt retirement resource planning.
5. Support and monitor community enhancement efforts throughout the college district.
